How to choose children
- They should be school going children 6-13 years of age who are on keen on studies.
- He / she should be a child from the poorest of the poor families who are beneficiaries of Samurdhi. The child should not be from a family with a member serving in the Government or corporation or mercantile or Estate Management or Prinate business sector.
- A child fulfilling these requirements could be referred to the Child Rights Promoting Officer attached to the Divisional Secretariat and then registered on priority basis. This alone is not enough to get aid.
- Applications are called from among those registered in the Department, depending on the donations / Constributions made by philanthropists to the Department.
